We have some great ways that you can do this from home.
First, DO NOT shampoo your hair for at least 48 hours after your color appointment. WHAT? 48 hours? This will allow time for all the treatment molecules to fully set it.
You also should be aware of heat. Excessive sunlight, hot water and lack of heat protectant can all decrease the life of your toner.
If you are planning for fun in the sun, grab a cute sunhat to protect your color and enhance your look.
We all like a hot shower but consider using cool water to rinse your hair.
Our favorite heat protectant at the salon is the Iles Formula Finishing Serum. Mist your hair before you dry and style it to best results.
Now, let’s talk about color maintenance.
Before you leave the salon, book your maintenance appointment for 3 – 4 weeks following your services. That may not seem like much time but toners live in the outer layers of the cuticle so over time they slowly release from the hair. The average lifetime of a toner is 6 – 8 washes.
What can you expect at your maintenance appointment:
